The language of charts before any system

Before any system, any indicator, any setup, any strategy — before ICT concepts, before VWAP, before macro context — there is a foundational language of price that every competent trader must be fluent in. That language is market structure.

Market structure is not a trading system. It is a framework for reading what price has done, what it is currently doing, and what it is telling you about the relative strength of buyers and sellers at any given point in time. It does not predict the future. It describes the present with enough clarity and specificity that the range of probable futures narrows, and within that narrowed range, intelligent decisions about risk and opportunity become possible.

Everything else in this book — every indicator, every concept, every system — is a layer of context applied on top of structural understanding. A trader who can read structure fluently and who understands nothing else will consistently outperform a trader who knows every advanced concept in this book but cannot read structure. The foundation is that important.
